Our philosophy that underpins treatment:
Movement - Movement is medicine
There is a saying that ‘movement is medicine’, bringing many physical, mental and emotional benefits, from increasing circulation, to producing mood enhancing chemicals in the brain, as well as boosting the immune system. The list is endless.

Education - Become empowered
Being informed about your own body and condition is key to empowering you to make decisions. Getting to know your body, including how it is unique, what relieves or exacerbates your condition, is a key part of this process - referred to as ‘self-management’. Our goals are to provide you with sufficient information to become self-reliant, rather than rely on a practitioner.
Behaviour - Change is not linear
Exercise Physiologists treat chronic conditions; anything present for longer than 3months. More often than not, having 1 condition for longer than 3 months, means there is another condition that also needs treating. This usually means the condition has somewhat ‘taken over’ your ‘normal’ habits and getting back into the habits that feel good or that will help your condition, requires specific strategies, including SMART goal setting, contingency planning, and motivational interviewing to help boost your confidence.
Support - Be heard
Changing behaviour is not easy. Having a person to trust and listen, can help put you back on the right path in no time. Our coping mechanisms can often determine our quality of life, and surprisingly exercise designed specifically for you, may become one of your key supports. Community is also an important value to Exercise Physiology For You and providing the opportunity to expand your support networks with similar people is part of our mission.
